The free program actually helps you improve the quality of your images as part of the process, offering you features for selecting the interpolation method and making adjustments to the resolution, colour intensity and saturation.
Although Raw Importer only supports conversion to JPEG or TIFF, this should be fine for most people, and it does make brisk worked of converting these files.
